About the event
Ruby Koa is thrilled to be partnering with the City Parks and Rec Dept. to have a series of sound healing events at her favorite place for outdoor sound baths, Fairhaven Park. Whereas most outdoor locations allow the sound to dissipate too much, we'll be nestled in a grassy area surrounded by tall trees that help reverberate the sound vibrations. Enjoy the powerful combination of the new moon, being outside in nature, and sound healing to give you a reset at the start of a new cycle!
Ruby chose to have these offerings as close to the new moon as possible for the following reasons: new moons represent a fresh slate, the beginning of a new cycle, and because her Synodic Moon Gong is tuned to the frequency of the moon's cycle from new-full-new moon.
Her gong also has an etheric quality to it that will help you relax and open up to your new intentions. She'll use multiple mallets  to bring out the full spectrum of beneficial vibrations and frequencies, and well as singing bowls, chimes, and an ocean drum. After a short centering with singing bowls, enjoy a 50-minute sound bath.
The other special thing about an outdoor sound bath is that the random sounds you may hear, from birds singing to people laughing and playing tennis will merge with the sound healing instruments to create an opportunity to release control and surrender to your true nature. Just as a body massage works out tight and knotted muscles, the "sonic massage" of a Gong meditation works out emotional issues that we need to release in order to move forward in life. The listener only has to let go and let the sound of the Gongs do the work.
No prior experience with meditation or sound baths is needed; the movement and sound will simply meet you where you are and take you wherever you need to go.
