About the event
As the seasons shift and nature begins its slow retreat, this three-part sound bath series invites you to turn your focus inward to cultivate stillness, clarity, and deep restoration. Each month, we will use gentle movement, breath work, and mindful reflection to prepare for an hour or so long sound journey featuring gongs, crystal bowls, chimes, and more. Some quiet time will also be given at the end of each session to simply integrate in silence or for writing and reflection time. Attend one or all; each workshop offers a complete experience in deep relaxation.
A couple extra bonuses are that we'll usually have one or two reiki or energy work practitioners present to help ground the energy during the sound bath and/or to support people individually if they start to feel uncomfortable. I'll also bring some tea and snacks.
Note from Ruby:
Though I'd been partnering with the Parks dept. for quite a few years, it hadn't occurred to me that they managed a space above the Fairhaven Library. After my studio and subsequently, Presence Studio, a space I'd rented for my events for five years closed, I struggled to find new venues large enough for my events. I also tried to find a venue in Fairhaven as I live nearby and love the feeling there. Right when I was was about to throw in the towel, the Fairhaven Auditorium finally came across my radar. After getting a tour of the space, the idea of a sort of sound bath series came to me. Even if participants can't attend them all, I was drawn to the idea of coming up with a theme that could be woven through multiple sound bath sessions. The series was called Nurturing Your Inner Garden and was quite successful.
I was struck that out of the several places I've played my instruments, I'd never heard such resonance, the sound was so rich. I look forward to offering an autumn version of this series and to dive a little deeper into this blooming new relationship being me, my instruments, and this unique location.
