About the event

The fall equinox is a powerful time to slow down and shift gears to prepare for and bring some balance into your autumn season. Making time to reflect during the changing of the seasons more fully connects us to the cycles of nature and to ourselves. This event will use the modalities of sound healing, ritual, yoga, free movement or dance, and guided meditation to do just that.

This healing experience begins with some centering, calling in the four directions, and intention setting. You’ll then be led through a sequence of some gentle Hatha &/or Kundalini yoga, free movement, breathing (all beginner level) and a version of guided meditation known as Yoga Nidra with sound healing instruments in the background to allow your nervous system to prepare for the hour-long Sound Journey.

During the event you’ll be immersed in the sounds of several crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, 5 planetary gongs (a small and large Moon, Sun, Mars, and Sedna gong), ocean drum, rattles, rain sticks, Koshi chimes and more.

While everyone has their own unique experience with sound energy, many have found it to open pathways to relax, quiet their mind, balance energy, meditate, release emotional tension, retune internal systems, have a spiritual experience, heal themselves, inspire creativity, or feel a deep sense of peace. Our innate intelligence appears to use this type of sound energy to promote well-being within.

With: Ruby Koa, Elizabeth Joy Clements, and Aimee Arendsee

When: Sunday September 25th, 4:00-6:30 pm

Where: Presence Studio, 1412 Cornwall Ave. (across the street from my old, Inspire Studio) The studio is just to the left of Bellingham Bar and Grill and is located upstairs. Allow for time to  find parking and please arrive 10 -15 minutes early to settle in.

What to Bring: The sound journey is usually experienced lying down on your back or a similar comfortable position. Some blankets, bolsters, and lovely silk eye pillows with optional lavender aromatherapy essential oils will be available to use.  We'll probably be lying down for at least an hour, on hardwood floor, so please bring whatever you need to be comfortable - yoga/camping/pilates mat, blankets, pillow, water bottle, eye covering, and even ear plugs may be helpful in case you discover you’re sensitive to certain sounds.

Each prop can have a powerful influence on your ability to relax and sink further into the rest & digest state, to receive the most benefit, so best to be prepared.

Tea and snacks will also be served after, but feel free to bring your own water bottle and/or thermos.  It’s important to stay hydrated and drink plenty of fluids to help support your body release any toxins loosened by the sound currents.

Elizabeth Joy Clements:

First introduced to Sound by Ruby Koa, at Inspire Studio, Elizabeth knew the beautifully meditative but powerfully transformative energy immersion felt like meeting the embrace of a long lost friend, coming home, food for the soul.  This experience began her relationship with sound, which she continues to explore, currently, by learning and sharing the gift of sound and guided visualization with others.  Elizabeth is so thankful for the incredibly gracious and welcoming community of mentors and fellow sound travelers.  Why does she love sound?  One of the many reasons is right  after a sound bath, seeing people’s eyes light up with mystery, while listening to them share about their own unique sound journey.  For her, the intuitive nature and accessibility of the practice is a space full of curiosity, discovery and infinite creative potential!

About Aimee Arendsee:

My name is Aimee Arendsee and I have been a sound healer for many years and am following my heart path facilitating small and large public and private events. I fell in love with crystal singing bowls and Tibetan singing bowls years ago as I experienced deep peace and calm whenever I played them. This fascination paved the road for me to build a collection of sound healing instruments (including gongs, native american frame drum and flutes, tuning forks, koshi chimes and more) and fueled the desire for me to share the healing attributes of those with family and friends and the rest of the world! The sound had a profound impact on my energetic, emotional and mental body which led me to study energy healing. I became certified as a level 2 Usui Reiki student and recently completed my first year student certification from Spiritual Journey Energy Healing Training. I am also a certified Advanced Theta healer and have recently earned certificates with the Gong Yoga Association in Advanced Gong Playing and also teacher certification for Gong Yoga Nidra (guided meditation with gongs). I have lived in the South Puget Sound area of Washington State for over 25 years and call this home. I am a lover of nature and love hiking and camping and connecting with the natural world. I love doing sound healing events outside! I have serenaded Mt Rainier, the Olympics and the Pacific ocean many times, with more to come. I have a passion for natural and alternative holistic healing and enjoy collaborating with others and artists on their journey to health and healing.
